Finding meaning in everyday life - discovering purpose

‘’Logos is deeper than logic’’ ― Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning

We are certified associate logo-therapists. As members of the Victor Frankl Institute, we design and facilitate workshops and coach clients who need to repurpose themselves, teams or organisations and who wish to discover and own their unique meanings and purposes.

The main tenets of our approach are:

  • Life has meaning under all circumstances, even the most miserable ones,
  • Our main motivation for living is our will to find meaning in life,
  • We have freedom to find meaning in what we do, and what we experience, or at least in the stand we take when faced with a situation of unchangeable suffering.

We weave these tenets into our organisational development approach. We design bespoke workshops and coach clients to embrace their challenges with dignity, responsibility and ownership. This is foundational to our unique value proposition.

Freedom to will

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
― Viktor E. Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning

In logotherapy/existential analysis, the search for a meaning in life is identified as the primary motivational force in human beings, rather than the need for power or pleasure.

Humans are not fully subject to conditions but are free to decide how to respond to the demands placed on us. We are quite capable of taking a position towards our bio-psycho-social conditions. Every human being has this freedom to choose our own attitude, no matter how challenging life has become. In the end, it is the application of attitudinal, experiential and creative values that offers the opportunity for meaning to manifest.

The will to meaning

‘’Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in life; everyone must carry out a concrete assignment that demands fulfilment. Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated. Thus, everyone's task is unique as is his specific opportunity to implement it” - Victor Frankl, Man's search for meaning.

Human beings are not only free, this freedom stands in relation to something – to achieve goals and purposes. When we cannot realize our “Will to Meaning” in our lives, we experience an abysmal sensation of meaninglessness and emptiness, referred to as the “existential vacuum”. Often people who appear highly successful to others end up asking “was this now it?” Such is the language of our emptiness.

Logotherapy/existential analysis assists our clients in perceiving and removing those factors that hinder us in pursuing meaningful goals, both at work and in our personal lives. At Indigo Skye Transformation, we apply these principles in workshop format to facilitate the discovery of meaning and purpose for individuals, teams, organizations, and our societies.

Meaning in life

“Ultimately, man should not ask what the meaning of his life is, but rather must recognize that it is he who is asked. In a word, each man is questioned by life; and he can only answer to life by answering for his own life; to life he can only respond by being responsible.”
― Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning

The Logotherapy approach calls upon humans, on the grounds of our freedom and responsibility, to bring forth the possible best in our self and in the world, by perceiving and realizing the meaning of the moment in every situation.

Clients are aided in achieving the openness and flexibility that will enable them to shape their day-to-day lives in a meaningful manner.

At Indigo Skye Transformation, we offer clients the possibility of establishing a clear organisational-, team or life vision, mission and purpose, and to establish a clear sense of responsibility for their lives, so that they may become the very best they can for the world.
